The Puffin Cultural Forum joins hands with the Hackensack Riverkeeper to celebrate the reopening of the Teaneck Creek Conservancy by presenting author Erik Kiviat and his book with Kristi MacDonald, “Urban Diversity: The Natural History of the NJ Meadowlands.” Erik presents findings published in his book and answer questions from the audience. As the northern edge of the Meadowlands Complex lessons from Erik Kiviat will resonate for the Teaneck Creek. “Kiviat and MacDonald delve into the considerable biodiversity of an ecologically battered urban-industrial region, addressing wild species from lichens to mammals. The results will help decision makers foster wildlife and plants that can cope with urban conditions and will aid in reducing loss of biodiversity in urbanizing areas.” (Rowman & Littlefield)
