About Us

Mission

The Puffin Cultural Forum, a project of The Puffin Foundation Ltd., is a gallery and performance space located at the site of the Foundation’s administrative offices in Teaneck, New Jersey. Our work takes place at the intersection of the arts and the struggle for human rights as we seek to realize, in our local community, the Foundation’s governing motto: “…continuing the dialogue between art and the lives of ordinary people.”

We strive to bring thoughtful, and socially-relevant arts programming to all of the surrounding communities of our diverse area in the form of art exhibitions, music, dance, theater, author interviews, workshops, film series, lectures, and dialogues. We deeply believe in the crucial role that the arts play in shaping our consciousness, and the role of artists as agents of social change.

Since its founding in 1983, the Puffin Foundation has sought to open the doors of artistic expression by providing grants to artists and art organziations who are often excluded from mainstream opportunities due to their race, gender, or social philosophy.
