Jazz pianist Lucian Ban’s new album, Ways of Disappearing, has garnered rave reviews and critical acclaim in The Wall Street Journal, Downbeat Magazine, and New York City Jazz Record. First recorded in the stunning Baroque Hall in Timisoara, Transylvania in May 2021 in the midst of a world standing still, Lucian Ban has since been on tour in Europe, and makes a stop in Teaneck in the midst of his U.S. tour schedule. Concert promises to be an intimate and mesmerizing concert experience.

Larry Blumenfeld of the The Wall Street Journal says “Mr. Ban prizes embedded mysteries more so than stylistic directives suggested by Monk’s music, or Paul Bley . . . even the most freely flowing tracks sound like satisfying songs.” DOWNBEAT Magazine describes Lucian Ban as “effortlessly eclectic and encyclopedic in his knowledge of most jazz forms from classic to free, Harlem stride to Tristano, Ban creates the impression that each track could be the threshold to a different album, but the whole coheres around his most personal and exposed improvisation yet, with ‘Cristina’s Hope’, as raptly self-transcending as anything Bill Evans ever committed to record.”
