Desmond Meade is the President of the Florida Rights Restoration Coalition, a grassroots, membership organization run by Returning Citizens (Formerly Convicted Persons) who are dedicated to ending disenfranchisement and discrimination against people with convictions. In 2018, Desmond Meade successfully led the effort to pass Florida Amendment 4, restoring voting rights to over 1.4 million Floridians with previous felony convictions. Named as one 100 most influential people in the world by Time magazine in 2019, Desmond Meade is the winner of the 2020 Puffin Prize for Creative Citizenship.
