Latin Grammy Award winner, bassist, and composer Pedro Giraudo brings his tango quartet to Puffin. They will perform a program representing contemporary tango including its roots in the traditional orquesta típica, tango nuevo as epitomized by Astor Piazzolla, and today’s sound that respects the past and looks to the future. The performance includes traditional pieces and original compositions that build on the lushness and beauty of tango. After two decades performing with the most important interpreters of tango, Pedro Giraudo debuted his own Tango Orchestra at Lincoln Center’s Midsummer Night Swing and continues to be an active cultural ambassador of this beautiful and passionate music from his native Argentina. Band features Nick Danielson (violin) , Rodolfo Marcelo Zanetti Vía (bandoneon) , & Ahmed Alom Vega (piano).
