PCF Director’s Note:
Ms. Sooyeon Kim came to us through the Bergen Symphony Orchestra. Ms Kim is an accomplished performer with an international reputation having performed all over the world including Carnegie Hall, Tokyo Suntory Hall, and Prague’s Smetana Hall and performed with the Budapest Symphony Orchestra, Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra, Berlin Symphony, and Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra.

July 15, 2017: Sooyeon Kim performs a delightful program, which includes “Lascia ch’io pianga” by George Frideric Handel, selection of works by Fernando Obradors, “Plaisir d’amour” by Jean-Paul-Égide Martini, “Les Chemins de l’amour” by Francis Poulenc, Summertime by George Gershwin, “Un bel dì vedremo” from Giacomo Puccini’s Madama Butterfly. Sooyeon Kim made her debut at Alice Tully Hall as a 2003 Young Virtuoso Artist and went on to perform internationally at Musikverein, Smetana Hall, Dvorak Hall, Sejong Arts Center, and many other prestigious venues. She has also performed leading opera roles in La Rondine, Idomeneo, Eugene Onegin, Don Giovanni, La Bohème, and The Newport Rivals, which premiered in 2001 at the National Opera Association convention. She currently teaches at the Julliard School.
