2020 Grant Notification Update

May 14, 2020

Dear Applicants,
It is with a heavy heart that we have made the decision to close our 2020 Artist Grant Cycle.  While we were able to process a large number of applications earlier in the year, the COVID-19 pandemic has meant we will be unable to properly review the remaining proposals.  If you had not heard from us previously about your application, this is not a ‘rejection’, but it does mean we will not be able to fund your proposal.

We understand the work and care that goes into submitting an application, and we hope that you will check our web site later in the summer for an update on our plans for the 2021 Artist Grant Cycle. This will include who will be eligible to apply and the application timeline as we gain a better understanding of when the country can safely & fully reopen.  For those who submitted applications with postage-paid envelopes for the return of materials, we will process these returns as soon as it is safe and practical to do so.

At present, the Puffin Foundation offices prudently remain closed.  While we hope to begin the process of re-opening soon, the delayed federal response and lack of a vaccine or effective treatments for Covid-19 means we cannot be certain of that date. In the interim, we suggest you use our email with any questions and note that it may take a little longer than usual to respond.

Thank you for understanding our desire to protect the health and safety of our employees that necessitated this decision.  We hope you are well and stay healthy.

Sincerely,

Gladys Rosenstein                Neal Rosenstein

Executive Director                Vice-President
