A native of St. Petersburg, Russia, pianist Ilya Yakushev moved to NYC to attend Mannes College of Music where he studied under legendary pianist Vladimir Feltsman. Winner of the 2005 World Piano Competition, Ilya’s notable recent performances include Millikin-Decatur Symphony, Pachuca Philharmonic, Fairfield County Orchestra, St. Petersburg Governor’s Orchestra, and a homecoming performance with the St. Petersburg Philharmonic.

Program includes Haydn’s Piano Sonata in D major, Hob.XVI:37, First movement from Beethoven’s Piano Sonata No. 23, Op. 57 “Appassionata”, Liszt’s Vallee d’Obermann, and Gershwin’s Three Preludes.
