Desmond Meade Receives a MacArthur Genius Award

Congratulations to Desmond Meade, one of this year’s recipients of a MacArthur Genius Award. This well-deserved honor recognizes his work heading the Florida Rights Restoration Coalition, which led to a historic victory in 2018 with the successful passage of Amendment 4, a grassroots citizen’s initiative that restored voting rights to over 1.4 million Floridians with past felony convictions. We were proud to honor Desmond with the Puffin Prize for Creative Citizenship this past December at the Type Media Center Puffin Prize Gala.
