A Year End Message from PCF Director Andrew Lee

December 24, 2020

Dear Puffin Friends,

As we finally draw near to the end of this tumultuous year, I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support. I was encouraged to see our audiences follow our concerts online on Facebook Live and Youtube, as well as our exhibitions on our website. Thank you for being part of the Puffin community!

I also have to thank Gladys Rosenstein and Neal Rosenstein. In the most uncertain and fearful of times, Gladys and Neal mobilized the Puffin staff to look for creative ways to continue within our limitations and invited us to seek out those who needed Covid-19 related funding. Gladys, Neal, thank you for being our unwavering, guiding light.

Lastly, 2020 has truly been a difficult year for the Puffin family. We lost too many of those we love around us, including our fearless leader Perry Rosenstein. I had the privilege of working in the Puffin office and seeing Perry on a daily basis. Perry was a man of conscience. Instead of resting on his laurels, he was tireless in his endeavor to make a difference. I don’t mean that as a platitude or some sort of generic statement. It was just who Perry was and what he did 9 to 5 in the office and I strongly suspect he took it with him when he went home with Gladys. Perry was a champion of activism, and he used his immense faculties and resources to promote it. He also cherished peace and profoundly loved the Arts. We are all left for the better because of Perry Rosenstein.

I look forward to being with you all back in our gallery enjoying our concerts, speakers, workshops, and films. However, until it is safe for us to gather again, the Puffin Cultural Forum will work hard to bring quality programming to you online. We have some exciting ideas and upcoming events on the way.

Have a wonderful, safe holiday season and a bright new year!
