Renowned contemporary pianist Kathleen Supové is thrilled to present a program featuring the world premiere of Tributaries II, a composition inspired by the specific tributaries of the Hudson River. Hannah Selin, Brooklyn-based composer of Tributaries II, will be present to discuss her piece.

Tributaries II explodes a characteristic melody into a constellation of musical ideas. The tributaries’ overlapping and intersecting harmonic clouds weave together an expanding and deepening musical world that culminates with the river’s outlet into the New York Bay and, ultimately, the Atlantic Ocean. Additionally, the evening’s program will include works by Randall Woolf and Supové herself that depict cycles of nature and how they resonate with us.

Pianist Kathleen Supové has premiered, promoted, and recorded works by a who’s who of today’s composers, both established and emerging. She annually presents a series of solo concerts entitled THE EXPLODING PIANO. She has performed with computerized pianos, video, poets, laptop orchestras, robots, and XReality. To date, Ms. Supové has 5 solo albums: Figure 88, Infusion, The Exploding Piano, The Debussy Effect, and Eye To Ivory.
