Spotlight Artists: Dedication to the Muse

Music Concert

In celebration of Women’s History Month, Spotlight Artists presents Dedication to the Muse, a classical and opera concert that honors women as sources of inspiration, and features iconic female figures who have shaped musical history. The program, performed by pianist Alexander Chaplinskiy and soprano Zoya Gramagin, brings to life unforgettable heroines such as Carmen and Mimì, and renditions of famous American songs about love and life.

“…a rockstar Russian pianist” (Operawire), Alexander Chaplinskiy is also a chorus master, conductor, music arranger, and coach. He is renowned for his dynamic performances and dedication to contemporary and Ukrainian music. Chaplinskiy has graced stages internationally, including a performance at Carnegie Hall as a finalist in the Forte International Music Competition. Notably, he conducted the Russian premieres of Steve Reich’s Eight Lines and Tehillim. In the U.S., Chaplinskiy continues to perform, coach, and direct music projects including the educational project he curates, Music Journeys.

Zoya Gramagin is a soprano celebrated for her expressive warmth, stylistic versatility, and deep musical sensitivity. Her repertoire spans opera, art song, and contemporary vocal works. Known for her nuanced phrasing and clear, luminous tone, Gramagin brings both intimacy and dramatic presence to the stage, engaging audiences through thoughtful interpretation and emotional honesty. Her previous roles include Manon in Manon Lesacaut, Liza in The Queen of Spades, Mimi in La Boheme, and Tatyana in Eugene Onegin.
