Harlem Opera Theater: 100th Birthday Tribute to Shirley Chisholm

The talented Harlem Opera Theater returns to the Puffin to pay tribute to Shirley Chisholm, the remarkable first African American congresswoman, on her 100th birthday. Soprano Victoria Antoinette Davis and Baritone Martin Fisher, led by director Gregory Hopkins, will be performing a special selection of arias, duets, and spirituals. Ingrid Griffith, who previously performed her award-winning one-woman show Shirley Chisholm: Unbossed & Unbowed at the Puffin, will be returning to host the evening and share stories about Chisholm’s life.
In festive tradition, the program will conclude with a Holiday Community Sing with the audience.
