David Drumgold Variety Show – PRIDE Edition
Theater
Actor, Broadway/TV/Film producer, and creative entrepreneur David Drumgold brings a special Pride Month edition of his self-titled variety show back to the Puffin! Hearkening back to the variety shows of the 60s & 70s – like The Carol Burnett Show, The Flip Wilson Show, and The Cher Show – The David Drumgold Variety show features good old old-fashioned talent, cheer, and the escapism of a good time. It celebrates everything magical about art, and features the very best of comedy, drag, dance, and world-class musicians!
Featured performers include:
Strawberry Fields (Drag Queen) is New York City’s “Ravishing Redhead”, a live-singing female impersonator with a vintage vibe and a stylish wardrobe to match! Strawberry Fields is a New York City-based, live-singing professional female impersonator with an immaculate style that has earned her the moniker “Vintage Vixen”. You’ll find this Glam Award nominated songbird belting out American Songbook standards and Broadway tunes at one of the many amazing NYC bars and clubs, like New World Stages (where she was a top five finalist for season six of So You Think You Can Drag?), Hardware Bar, Duplex and other venues around the Big Apple.
Ruby Powers (Drag Queen), dubbed New York City’s most joyous drag queen, is a former Miss Stonewall Inn Fan Favorite, and has performed at the Metropolitan Room, The Duplex, Urban Stages, and 54 Below/Feinstein’s, among others. Her “LOVE, RUBY” series raises money for causes ranging from The Elton John AIDS Foundation to the ACLU.
Diana Taylor (R&B Singer) hails from Houston Texas and moved to NYC in the spring of 1997. A year later in 1998, she released her very first single under “Priority Record Label” making her the #1 House/Dance artist signed to the then infamous Label, alongside big names like Ice Cube, No Limit, Snoop Dog and so many other heavy hitters.
Yasuhiko Fukuoka (Pianist) is a versatile pianist and in-demand composer who is recognized both onstage and off for his virtuosic talents.
