Miryam Z. Wahrman, Ph.D.- How to Survive the Global Germ Age
We now live in an era where microbes travel worldwide, carried by people, on produce, by insects, and other vectors. In recent years we have witnessed outbreaks of common killer diseases such as the flu, the less common SARS and MRSA, and the more exotic Ebola, and Zika viruses. What can we do to lower the risk of exposure to infectious diseases? Handwashing, as part of basic hygiene, is a no-brainer.
Miryam Z. Wahrman is Professor of Biology at William Paterson University.
