We are sold out for our screening on Saturday 1/25. When an event is sold out for reservations, there is still a possibility of getting seats if you arrive 45 minutes before show time. In such cases, we will have a sign-up waiting list for providing seats in list order based on availability after we release unclaimed reservations 15 minutes before show time. If you have a seat reserved but are unable to come please call or email to let us know. Thank you.
In 1969, the Chicago Black Panther Party began to form a multi-ethnic coalition with the Young Lords Organization and the Young Patriots. Banding together in one of the most segregated cities in post-war America, the Rainbow Coalition changed the face of 1960s Chicago politics and created an organizing model for future activists and politicians. Film is presented two days before being broadcast on PBS, in partnership with the Teaneck International Film Festival, and the Indie Lens Pop-Up program. A discussion with Activist Denise Oliver-Velez will follow the screening.
