Dr. Gerard Costa is the founding director of the Center for Autism and Early Childhood Mental Health and Professor in the Department of Early Childhood, Elementary and Literacy Education, in the College of Education and Human Services at Montclair State University. Dr. Costa received his Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology from Temple University.
The presentation explores autism as a diverse spectrum of individual differences with clear challenges and often unrecognized strengths, and will explore the need to consider autism from an "insider" perspective, including the use of "first person" accounts and autobiographical narratives.
